Thornbury Methodist Church & Hall has been part of the town’s spiritual life since John Wesley preached here in 1789, and the current neo-Gothic building on High Street has served the community since 1878. The church isn’t just a place of worship—it has a two-storey annexe with halls, quiet rooms, kitchens, and facilities that support a wide variety of community activities. Lay leadership and congregational convenors help lead in worship, evangelism, learning & caring, supported by church stewards. Members are active locally (including through Thornbury Churches Together) and beyond, with roles in hospital ministry, local preachers, circuit and district events. The halls are regularly rented out, making the church hall a true hub of both faith and community.
