Last weekend, on 4th and 5th July, Shortwood Methodist Church celebrated its 150th anniversary with a wonderful Flower Festival.
For a small church, it was truly inspiring to see how the congregation came together to create such beautiful bouquets and floral displays. Every arrangement reflected the care, creativity, and dedication of those who gave their time to make the church look so welcoming for this special occasion.
Visitors also enjoyed displays of old photographs and newspaper cuttings, which shared the story of the church’s long and faithful history. They offered a glimpse into the life of the church over the past 150 years, reminding us how it has served generations of worshippers. Despite the challenges it has faced over the years, Shortwood Methodist Church has continued to support local charities and care for its community with faith, love, and generosity.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organise this memorable weekend, create the beautiful floral displays, welcome visitors, and serve a lovely cup of tea and refreshments. Your kindness and hospitality helped make the celebration a joyful occasion for all.
Congratulations to everyone at Shortwood Methodist Church on this remarkable 150th anniversary. We pray that God will continue to bless the church and its ministry for many years to come.
