Horfield Methodist Church is making great strides thanks to recent grants, with several projects enhancing both sustainability and community life:
1. Courtyard Development
The courtyard is taking shape with all paths, drains, and guttering completed. Planters, benches, and a shed are now in place. Each bench is made from over 1,000 recycled plastic bottles, and the shed comes from a company with strong eco credentials, including sustainable timber and tree planting initiatives. The courtyard is on track to be fully ready by Spring 2026.
2. Remote Heating Controls
The new Hive remote access system is now installed and operational, allowing the heating to be managed remotely — making a real difference in efficiency and convenience.
3. Bike Racks
A Circuit grant has also enabled the installation of new bike racks, supporting eco-friendly travel for church members and visitors.
These initiatives show how Horfield Methodist Church is actively creating a more sustainable and welcoming space for everyone.
