There was a real sense of joy and thanksgiving at Horfield Methodist Church as the congregation gathered to celebrate the completion of the Buzz Zone project with a special service of worship.

It was wonderful to see the new space filled with people as everyone came together to bless the Buzz Zone, pray, and give thanks to God for all that has been achieved over the past 18 months. During the service, the congregation sang the much-loved hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful, a fitting reminder of God’s wonderful creation and our calling to care for it.

Following the service, everyone enjoyed a picnic tea together in the Buzz Zone. One of the highlights was sharing tomatoes that had been grown in one of the new planters – a simple but special reminder that the space is already beginning to bear fruit.

The celebration also provided an opportunity to reflect on how the Buzz Zone will be used in the future. As people chatted over tea, ideas were shared about making the most of this welcoming outdoor space for worship, community activities, and simply spending time together. There was a real sense of gratitude for all that has been accomplished and a shared commitment to ensure the Buzz Zone continues to flourish.

Looking back, it’s remarkable to see how far the project has come in just 18 months. The Buzz Zone stands as a testament to the vision, dedication, generosity, and prayers of so many people. Everyone at Horfield Methodist Church is looking forward to seeing how this new space will continue to grow as a place of welcome, worship, fellowship, and connection with creation for many years to come.
