Staple Hill Methodist Church was transformed into a colourful celebration of literature, flowers, and community spirit during its recent “Books in Bloom” Flower Festival.
Visitors of all ages enjoyed a wonderful display of creative floral arrangements inspired by beloved books and stories. The church was filled with imaginative compositions bringing famous tales to life, including charming scenes from Peter Rabbit, adventurous displays inspired by Treasure Island, and many more literary favourites.
The festival combined artistry, storytelling, and fellowship, with guests wandering through the beautiful displays while enjoying refreshments, homemade cream teas, and a warm welcome from church volunteers.
Held over three days, the event attracted members of the local community and visitors from further afield, offering not only a feast for the eyes but also an opportunity to come together and celebrate creativity and shared memories through books and flowers.
A special Songs of Praise service added a reflective and joyful element to the weekend programme.
We would like to thank everyone who helped create the displays, served refreshments, and supported the event. The generosity, talent, and enthusiasm of volunteers made “Books in Bloom” a memorable occasion.
From classic adventures to childhood favourites, the festival showed how stories can blossom in unexpected and beautiful ways.
