Alveston Methodist Church brought a little extra warmth to Halloween this year by offering a welcoming stop for families and children enjoying their trick-or-treating.

A gazebo was set up outside the church, where passers-by were invited to take a break and enjoy a free hot chocolate, complete with cream and colourful sprinkles.

The Halloween outreach event was a great success, welcoming approximately 150 people and serving 125 hot chocolates to visitors of all ages.

The gazebo provided a friendly space for people to pause, chat and enjoy a warm drink during their Halloween celebrations. It was also a lovely opportunity for the church to connect with the wider community and share a simple message of welcome, generosity and kindness.

Events like this demonstrate how small acts of hospitality can make a big difference, helping local churches build relationships and show that everyone is welcome.

A big thank you goes to all those who helped organise and support the event, making it such a successful and enjoyable evening for the community.
