Members of Zion United Church have recently undertaken an important and challenging journey to Ukraine to deliver much-needed supplies to people affected by the ongoing war.

Geoff and Richard travelled to Ukraine carrying essential items donated by people in the local community. Their journey was long and, at times, difficult, but they were determined to reach those who needed the support.

During their visit, Geoff and Richard met some remarkable people working tirelessly to help others, including those at an aid centre in Zolochiv and staff at a military hospital. Their experiences gave them a first-hand insight into the incredible work being carried out every day to support communities affected by the conflict.

Sadly, the war in Ukraine continues, and the need for humanitarian support remains great. Families continue to lose their homes and possessions, while many people are left without the basic necessities of life. Soldiers are also continuing to lose their lives in the fight to defend their country and its freedom.

This journey would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who has donated. Every contribution, large or small, helps to provide practical support and reminds those affected by the war that they have not been forgotten.

A very special thank you goes to Geoff and Richard for giving their time, energy and commitment to make the long journey and personally ensure that the donated supplies reached those who need them.
